The New York Yankees are just one win away from the franchise’s 27th World Series and they’ll have their two stud lefties on the mound as the series shifts back to the northbet ting pick New York.
The Yankees have dominated the World Series to date but simply couldn’t do much with a motivated Philadelphia Phillies squad in Game 5. Back at home, where they have been a very dominant team this year, they should have no problem closing out the Series.
The Phillies made one mistake that may end up costing them the series. In Game 4, the Phillies started Joe Blanton, who got rocked, instead of bringing back staff ace Cliff Lee on short notice. Had they gone that route, the Phillies could have then started Pedro Martinez at home for Game 5. Instead, the Phillies now have to start Pedro Martinez for Game 6 at Yankee Stadium, where he has struggled, and have left the door open for a Game 7 starter.
The Yankees have a bit of a pickle of their own as both Andy Pettitte and C.C. Sabathia may be on short rest. Pettitte will start Game 6 and Sabathia will go Game 7.
Regardless, the Yankees bats have been hammering the Phillies pitching and beyond the starters, the Phillies bullpen is a wreck right now. Look for the Yankees to win their 27th World Series on Wednesday night.
